c4c6ab2494 Use distance based search radius 
This limits the nearest neighbour search to a maximum distance
of 1000 meters, but will also work in dense areas.

c0e066440c Use shared memory if no server paths are provided. 
This caused a bug in the node bindings that would invoke the constructor
without parameters.
